Bayfordbury Evenings are an opportunity to visit a working astronomical observatory.

The evenings are tailored to the abilities and experience of the students, either KS3, GCSE or A-level with the general content including:

Weather permitting there will be the opportunity to view interesting objects in the sky both looking through the telescopes and also using CCD imaging cameras as well as showing off your knowledge of the sky with a tour of the constellations. (If the weather is bad, we will show you some pictures we took earlier!).

The evenings are run by PhD students from the School of Physics, Astronomy & Maths in conjunction with the East of England Science Learning Centre.

The University of Hertfordshire's Bayfordbury Observatory is located about 1.5 miles South of Hertford on the B158, entrance opposite the St Mary's Lane junction.
